  • Meat Masher Tool
  • Rotary Cheese Grater
  • Mixing bowls
  • cookie sheet
  • parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 0.5 lb sausage
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 1.5 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 0.25 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • In a skillet, cook sausage until crumbled and no longer pink. Drain fat.
  • In a bowl, combine butter, cheese, cooked sausage and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well. Blend in flour.
  • Form dough into ½-inch balls. Place on baking sheet.
  • Bake for 15 to 18 minutes.

Notes

I like to make small half-inch balls. They are the perfect bite-size, in my opinion. If you want bigger puffs, make them bigger. Just check the cooking time. Bigger puffs might take a minute or two longer to bake. You can substitute turkey sausage in this recipe. Make sure to mix the dough well to get all of the flour incorporated. You can freeze the baked puffs for a quick snack later.
