Tomato Sauce Ingredients
- 28 ounces San Marzano tomatoes (whole peeled)
- 0.25 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 bay leaf
- 2–3 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
- 2 tablespoons fresh Italian flat-leaf parsley (minced)
- 1 pinch chili flakes (optional)
Preparation Steps
In a medium bowl, crush the whole San Marzano tomatoes by hand until desired consistency is reached.
Add salt, oregano, olive oil, bay leaf, garlic, parsley, and chili flakes (if using). Mix well until combined.
Let the mixture sit for about 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
Discard the bay leaf before using the sauce on your favorite pizza or other dishes.
